Equal no if sweets shared equally at first. Hence find out how many sweets were given out that made the sweets even for the other 16 students who received 13 sweets each.

So 13*16=208

2units - 208 sweets (the one the 8 students gave away)
Find total sweets for 8 students
3units —-208/2*3=312
Each student receives— 312/8=39 sweets
39*24=936 —- total sweets received by 24 students
