If even number.. you can use the odd number to calculate.
As you aware that unshaded square for figure
1 and 2 are same = 1
3 and 4 are same = 4
5 and 6 are same = 9
So, let say questions ask for figure 74, you can calculate for figure 73....
(73+1)÷2=37²=1369
As you aware that unshaded square for figure
1 and 2 are same = 1
3 and 4 are same = 4
5 and 6 are same = 9
So, let say questions ask for figure 74, you can calculate for figure 73....
(73+1)÷2=37²=1369
But total for shaded square have to be careful,
Total square for figure (74×75)÷2=2775
Therefore, shaded square = 2775-1369=1406
Total square for figure (74×75)÷2=2775
Therefore, shaded square = 2775-1369=1406
So, after the working, even number ...
Formula...
Total unshaded square will be
(Figure number÷2)²
Example figure 4
= (4÷2)²
= 2²
= 4
Or figure 6
= (6÷2)²
= 3²
= 9
Formula...
