A prime number is a number which contains only 1 and itself as factors.

So, either p or p + 36 must equal to 1 (or in this case, another value is actually possible, but it would be negative and therefore not be a whole number)

(Failing which, there would be more than two factors and the number will not be prime; even if p = 5 for example, 5 x 41 will not be prime)

If p = 1, p (p + 36) = 1 * 37 = 37.

The prime number is 37.
