Cost of 21 notebooks = 21 × $5.70 = $119.70
Let the cost of a file be f.
Then, (8f + $119.70) - 25f = $64.45
8f + $119.70 = $64.45 + 25f
$119.70 = $64.45 + 17f
17f = $119.70 - $64.45 = $55.25
(a) f = $55.25 ÷ 17 = $3.25
(b) 25f = $3.25 × 25 = $81.25
