Nabil, there is no need for a diagram of the curve to be presented in a question. For some curves which are easier, graphs are usually not presented in a question.

Or in this case, because the expression y = ½ + sin²x is an always positive curve, the setter of the question probably intends for the student to realise this so that the shape of the graph is not required in the solving of this question.

Nevertheless, I have included a sketch of the graph on Desmos.

1st
We need to be careful when integrating sin^2 x. We cannot integrate this the usual way we do by raising the power by 1 and dividing by the new power.

In other words.

(sin x)^2

does not integrate to

(sin x)^3 / 3

and using the chain rule reversal

(sin x)^3 / (3 cos x)

does not work either since sin x is non-linear.

As always, my answer might be wrong.
