Your first step was correct, but you seemed to be lost at the second step.
When tackling such Qs, always follow the Q sentence by sentence. A good habit would follow:
1 bottle -> water + syrup
30 bottles -> ?
This allows you to break down the Q to it's concise information and identify what the question is looking for - in this case total volume of 30 bottles.
