Have you done multiplication of three digits by two digits before? If yes, you can extend the idea to three digits by three digits.

Multiply 126 to 375 using that idea. Put the decimal place correctly after that.

①Rule of thumb : the number of decimal places is the sum of the decimal places of the two numbers you are multiplying by.
126 : 0 decimal places
3.75 : 2 decimal places
So your product should have (0 + 2) = 2 decimal places.
Next, do 126 × 375 manually.
126 × 375 = 47250
Since we know now it has 2 decimal places, put the decimal place accordingly. The answer should be 472.50
② Alternatively, 126 × 3.75 = 126 × 375 ÷ 100 = 47250 ÷ 100 = 472.5 (shift decimal 2 places to the left)

The first line is 126 x 0.05. Do the usual multiplication. Issue comes with number of decimal places. Since 0.05 has 2dp, place the decimal to 2dp.

Second line, do the same multiplication. Note that the line shifts to the left by one place. The is because 0.7 has only 1dp.

Third line is a whole number.

Things to note:
1. The shift in lines to the left
2. Tidyness of working. It is very easy to make mistakes during such multiplications. Make sure all steps are shown clearly to reduce chance of careless mistakes.

It takes time to be very sure when doing such multiplication but with enough practice it can be mastered.
