At 10a.m,
Jon would have travelled 36km (12 x 3 = 36)
So, Jon will be ahead of David by 36km.

For every hour,
Jon will travel 6km more, since Jon's speed is twice of David's. (Every hour, Jon travel 12km while david travel 6km)

For Jon to be 48km ahead of David,
48 - 36 = 12
12 ÷ 6 = 2
Therefore, Jon would need another 2 hours to be 48km ahead of David.

Answer = 12 p.m
