3x - 2y = 8 ①
4x + 3y = 5 ②
From ①,
3x = 8 + 2y
x = 8/3 + ⅔y ③
Sub ③ into ②,
4(8/3 + ⅔y) + 3y = 5
32/3 + 8/3 y + 3y = 5
8/3 y + 3y = 5 - 32/3
17/3 y = -17/3
y = -17/3 ÷ 17/3
y = -1
So x = 8/3 + ⅔(-1)
= 8/3 - ⅔
= 6/3
= 2
