Let larger number be L, smaller number be S.
From the question info we can say that :
L / S = 2 R2
So L = 2 × S + 2
L = 2S + 2 ①
And
5S / L = 2 R2
So 5S = 2 × L + 2
5S = 2L + 2 ②
Sub ① into ②,
5S = 2(2S + 2) + 2
5S = 4S + 4 + 2
5S = 4S + 6
5S - 4S = 6
S = 6
Sub S = 6 into ①, L = 2(6) + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14
From the question info we can say that :
L / S = 2 R2
So L = 2 × S + 2
L = 2S + 2 ①
And
5S / L = 2 R2
So 5S = 2 × L + 2
5S = 2L + 2 ②
Sub ① into ②,
5S = 2(2S + 2) + 2
5S = 4S + 4 + 2
5S = 4S + 6
5S - 4S = 6
S = 6
Sub S = 6 into ①, L = 2(6) + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14
