I think you don’t have to use the sampling distribution formula because they are asking for individual savings and not the total savings of 100

Normally u only use z test if mean and standard deviation is not given

Yeah as mentioned in the comments, generally z is only used when either the mean and/or the standard deviation is unknown. Otherwise, it's ok to use the normal method of solving normal distribution :D
