Must use the quadratic formula, but I don't know how in this particular question.

a) Ball starts off from top of building, so initial ball height is equal to building height
Sub in t=0 and solve for x
b) when ball is same height as building, x = 50, solve for t.
You should get t=0 and the answer
c) when ball reaches ground, x=0
Sub x=0 and solve for t
d)when bal is 30m off ground, x=30
Solve for t (rmbr to reject t if its negative)
Sub in t=0 and solve for x
