Oh yes, the answer to the question is truly 24 - the age of the mother when the daughter was born - which is obviously 58 - 34.

Take note of the final working. The question is asking for the mother’s age when daughter is born, hence you need to subtract the daughter’s age from the mother’s age. Alternatively, you can equate it to 4x.
