2 hours had elapsed from 1400 to 1600.

Since the lorry's speed is 60 km/h, the lorry must have travelled 60 x 2 = 120 km before meeting with the van which was travelling from the opposite end.

Since they were 310 km apart at 1400 and the lorry had travelled 120 km, the van must have travelled 310 - 120 = 190 km in the exact opposite direction in the same 2 hours.

Speed of van
= 190 / 2
= 95 km/h
