Do not do this way this is the model way
The best way is by just multiple the num
The best way is by just multiple the num
The model is just for understanding
Keiko, there is no such thing as 'do not do this way'
The model drawing is used in P5 maths to demonstrate the equal concept.
In fact, making the numerator the same IS based on the unitary method. The two models are further cut into units of equal sizes.
Many students at P5 struggle to understand the concept of fractions and the equal concept.
The model drawing is not only a great visual aid for understanding the general idea. It is also perfectly acceptable.
It only becomes cumbersome to cut the model when the denominators are very large and would be inefficient to cut into many pieces.
But that is not the case here, since we only have ⅔ and 3/5.
