x² + 1/x² = 11
x² - 2 + 1/x² = 9
(1/x)² - 2(1/x)(x) + x² = 9
(1/x - x)² = 9
1/x - x = ±√9
1/x - x = 3 or 1/x - x = -3
¼(1/x - x) = ¾ or ¼(1/x - x) = -¾
x² - 2 + 1/x² = 9
(1/x)² - 2(1/x)(x) + x² = 9
(1/x - x)² = 9
1/x - x = ±√9
1/x - x = 3 or 1/x - x = -3
¼(1/x - x) = ¾ or ¼(1/x - x) = -¾
