Because in 7 years time, both Simon and Amina are going to age 7 years so must minus 7 twice. i.e. 7 years each per individual
After minusing 14 years from 78, that leaves us with 64 (present age). Since question says Simon is thrice the age of Amina, we can say 4u = 64.
Amina = 1u = 64/4 = 16 years old.
