In the small white triangle of the second figure, one of the angles is actually a corner angle of the rectangular paper (90°).

That angle appears to be acute but its is actually a right angle (the diagram is not drawn accurately)

You've already found the 72°.

Since angle sum of a triangle is 180°,

∠p = 180° - 72° - 90° = 18°
