This is incorrect. You need to consider the dimensions of the square. There will be a remainder portion of the square that cannot be made into more rectangles.
Correct way :
108cm ÷ 5cm = 21 R 3cm
Maximum number of whole breadths that can fit one side/dimension of the square
= 21
108cm ÷ 7cm = 15 R 3cm
Maximum number of whole lengths that can fit one side/dimension of the square
= 15
This means we can cut out 21 rectangles lengthwise and 15 rectangles breadthwise.
(i.e there are 21 rows and each row has 15 rectangles)
Total number of rectangles that can cut
= 15 x 21
= 315
