One Answer Below
Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
Why the answer not 500?
In other words, we can fit in
10 x 11 x 5, or
550 cubes.
= 20cm ÷ 2cm
= 10
Number of cubes that can be fitted along 10cm side
= 10cm ÷ 2cm
= 5
Number of cubes that can be fitted along 23cm side
= 23cm ÷ 2cm
= 11 R 2
Total number of cubes that can be fitted
= 11 x 10 x 5
= 110 x 5
= 550
To be more accurate, 11 R 1cm
See 1 Answer
23➗2 = 11 R 1
10 ➗2 = 5
10 x 11 x 5 = 550 ( 2 cm cubes)
( you must only take the quotients and multiply) not the remainder
