If 3 - 5i is a root...
...so does 3 + 5i; they come in pairs (if you have used the quadratic formula to solve quadratic equations and obtained answers with square roots, you will notice that they come in opposite pairs)

Roots are 3 - 5i and 3 + 5i.

Sum of roots
= 3 - 5i + 3 + 5i
= 6

Product of roots
= (3 - 5i) (3 + 5i)
= 9 + 15i - 15i - 25i^2
= 9 - 25i^2
= 9 - 25 (-1)
= 34

Equation is
x^2 - (Sum)x + Product) = 0
x^2 - 6x + 34 = 0

where p = -6 and q = 34
