How come at first it's 4u + 60?

I thought -->

At first
A - u+60
B - u

So 1u= 60÷3= 20
Aisha have 20×4=80
Aisha gave away 1/4 -->20

a) Beth --> 1u=40÷5=8
Which means 2/5 is 8×2=16

b) Total candies Aisha had in the end is
60+16+87=163

Instead of Beth had 1 unit at first, let Beth had 4 units and Aisha had 60 more than Beth means Aisha had 4 units + 60,

Why 4 units? So it is easier to have whole number of units to give to Beth.
Aisha gave 1/4 of (4 units + 60)
--> 1/4 of 4 units = 1 unit
and 1/4 of 60 = 15

In the table, after 1st change, shows the total amount each girl have.

Then, Beth gave 2/5 of (5 units + 15) which is shown in the table, 2nd change.
