Total no. of additional books on the shelves because of removal of 5 shells = 40 x 40 = 1600
Total no. of books that were initially on the 5 shells = 1600
Initial number of books on each shelf = 1600 / 5 = 320
Total no. of books = 320 x 45 = 14400
