Height of 3 layers is 27cm, so side of 1 cube = 27/3 = 9cm

Volume of 1 cube = 3 x 3 x 3 = 27cm^3
Find the total volume by mulitplying by total no. of cubes

Sorry, careless mistake. Volume of 1 cube is 9 x 9 x 9 = 729cm^3
