the boiling water gained heat and evaporated, forming water vapour. the warmer water vapour then came into contact with the cooler air, lost heat and condensed into tiny water droplets, thus forming the white mist

plate B
The white mist is actually made up of water droplets formed from the condensation of the hot water vapour (steam) upon contact with the surrounding air.

WARMER water vapour from the surrounding air comes into contact with the COOLER surface of the object, LOSES HEAT to it and CONDENSES to form water droplets.

Shouldn’t it be plate A (30 degree Celsius) that will form water droplets? As the mist from the sprout touches the plate A surface which is cooler than the mist, the mist will condense and form water droplets.
The mist should be (slightly) cooler than plate B (at water boiling point). When the mist touches plate B, it will form steam and continue to rise away from plate B. Hence there will be no water droplet form at plate B.

Of course this is with assumption the plate A and plate B remain constantly at 30 and 100 degree Celsius respectively.
