Hi!

I think you are stuck at part 1. The amount of material is the volume of material used.

Actually the tube is just a rolled up rectangle. The ruler tells you the length of the rectangle.

If you unroll the tube the width is the circumference of the circle (the base of the tube). The thickness is 1.5mm and the ruler reads 3.7mm so the actual diameter is 3.7- 3mm = 3.4mm.

Circumference = πd = 3.14 X 3.4

So now you have the width, length and thickness of the material and you can calculate the volume.
