Hi, from the question given, we know that if we sub x=3+5 √2 into the equation, the whole equation would result in 0 since 3+5 √2 is a root. Therefore we use this piece of information to sub in x=3+5 √2 to expand and regroup the whole equation to form simultaneous equations and solve for the values of a and b respectively. I hoped this helped.
