The answer is option 3.

This is because both loads were dropped at the same height thus the air resistance and gravitational energy will be the same. So, the first and second options are incorrect. Secondly, potential energy does not affect the rate of fall as it is the internal energy of the loads. That’s why, the last option is also wrong. Option 3 is correct as there are holes in the parachute of load Y, this causes lesser surface area and thus it results in lesser force upwards. It is the force upwards that is slowing the rate of fall.
