I suppose that the 3rd quadrant is rejected as the principal value of that inverse cosine thingy lies in the 2nd quadrant
Indeed you are right about the part when principal value is involved, it is only second quadrant.
But as the question has no other information, I took it as a "non-principal value" question. Haha.
