(a) Half of the figure area = 648cm2
Total area of the figure = 648 x 2
= 1296cm2
Answer (a): 1296cm2
(b) Quarter of the figure area = 648/2
= 324cm2
Length of a quarter of the figure area
= Square root of 324:
18cm
Arc of half the semicircle in the figure
-> 36 x 3.14 x 1/4
= 28.26cm
Total perimeter of the shaded area
= 18 + 18 + 18 + 18 + 28.26 x 4
= 185.04cm
Answer (b): 185.04cm
Total area of the figure = 648 x 2
= 1296cm2
Answer (a): 1296cm2
