At least show "the figure below"?
step 1 : 1:3 --> 5: 15
step 2: 2:7 --> 4: 14
so 20 cm = 1 unit
area of square = 5 unit = 5x20 = 100

I believe it will benefit the student by explain why you made those changes to the ratio in order to connect them. If not, it seems to be some random changes.
