40x - 15y = 230 — (1)
7x - 5y = 45
21x - 15y = 135 — (2)
Take (1) - (2)
230 - 135 = [40x-21x] -15y-(-15y)
95 = 19x
x = 5
When x = 5,
8(5) - 3y = 46
3y = -6
y = -2
