Let x be the *no. of rows* at first.
10(x) + 2 chairs = total no. of chairs that are rearranged into rows of 7. The new no. of rows is now (x + 5).
We can then form this equation.
10x + 2 = 7(x + 5)
10x + 2 = 7x + 35
10x - 7x = 35 - 2
3x = 33
x = 11 rows at first
no. of chairs at first = 11 x 10 = 110 chairs.
