Sorry this isn't math but physics. Can I ask physics here? I don't even know. But my question is why does the diagram on the left not give me a correct effective resistance even if it follows the path of the current

The answer's 6.4 ohms. I know how to get it but I don't understand why the working to get 3.6 ohms is wrong

May I know where u obtained your 6.4 ohm solution from?

I get 6.22 ohms

It's in the picture. A and B are in parallel and so are E and F. So that makes the whole circuit parallel with 32 ohms and 8 ohms giving 6.4 ohms
