Pls help on this question. I got the answer as 27 cm2 but the given answer is 54cm2.

Thanks for the reply.
We got the 108 x 2 = 216 cm2.

The 2nd part, how come is not the total area of rectangular divide it into 4 parts and then half it again?

Because area of triangle ABE is only half of 2 identical rectangles instead of the whole figure.
So 216cm2 is only area of 2 small rectangles instead of 4 small rectangles.
