I do not understand why it is not is. In another paper, they stated that quarter is a collective noun but this paper is not. Could somebody explain? Help would be greatly appreciated!

The answer is (2) because, it said pupils. There is a 's' in pupils so that means that there is a lot of people which is plural and thus it is 'are'.

The answer was 3, ks the answer was as pizza does not have an 's'

The before question said one quarter of pupils so there is a lot of people performing in the concert but for this one, only one person is eating the pizza and it is past rnse because it said the person ate it half an hour ago so that is why the answer is (3) for the pizza question.
Ohh so quarters dont comply to the question, Thanks for your help!
