Jean's savings make up 7 units, so divide it by 7, to find out the price of 1 unit. Melanie's savings is 4 units, so times the answer by 4.
now, in a new ratio, Melanie's savings make up 2 units, so divide it by 2 to find out the price of this new unit. times the answer by 3 to find out Alex's savings, which make up 3 units.
