Thanks for your help. Why did you multiply $95 by 4 pls?
What’s 4-4? zero.
What’s 100-100? zero. What’s 4x-4x? zero.
What’s 4 kettles - 4 kettles? That’s right, zero.
The big idea here is that we want to have only one unknown. Problem is, the question gives us two unknowns (toasters and kettles).
I multiplied 95 by 4 because that would give us 8 toasters and 4 kettles. From the diagram, you can see that means 4 kettles minus 4 kettles = 0 and the only difference is 5 oven toasters, which is 260. With that info, we can find the cost of 1 toaster easily.
