LockB, for this question, you will need to realise that if an angle of depression of a point on the ground from the top of the tower is 60, then the angle of elevation of the top of the tower from the base point is also 60, due to alternate angles.

I need you to draw a diagram. in this order

W -----------------P-----------------F

I assume that both W and P are to the left of the tower which has "no radius" at all (in reality, the radius is important, but this will complicate the other case where W is on the left of the tower and P is on the right of the tower).

From here, you draw the tower with a vertical line of unknown height.

We draw lines from the top of the tower, T, to P and another line to W.

Angle TWF is 30 while Angle TPF is 60. Angle TFQ is 90. Length PW is 100 m.

I am currently doing some other stuff so I am unable to help you at the moment. But first I give you the idea. Let the distance PF be x m and the height of the tower be h m. You need to form two toa cah soh equations involving x and h and solve them simultaneously for h and x.

Yep, the horizontal line is the eye view.

You need to make an assumption that the tower has no width at all.

Because in reality, the angle of depression is measured from the point of the observing (which is often at the closer end of the building) to the ground, and the points of observation for P and W will be different in a real case scenario.

If the circular tower is say 10 m in diameter, the values will be quite different.

Without this assumption, the actual distances PF and FW will be more than they actually are.
