Kelly : Laura is 3 : 4.

Kelly 3 units
Laura 4 units

After Laura gave away half of her beads, she had 2 units left.

Meiling must have had (2 units + 25) beads AFTER giving away half of her beads.

Meiling must have had twice of this, or (4 units + 50) beads at first.

Total number of beads at first
= Kelly + Laura + Meiling
= 3 units + 4 units + 4 units + 50
= 11 units + 50

So, 11 units + 50 = 1062
11 units = 1012
1 unit = 92 beads

Number of beads Meiling had at first
= 4 units + 50
= 4 x 92 + 50
= 418

At first,

Laura : ⬛⬛⬛⬛
Kelly : ⬛⬛⬛
Meiling : not given

After giving half of their buttons,

Laura : ⬛⬛
Meiling : ⬛⬛ + 25

So before giving, Meiling must have twice of (⬛⬛ + 25)

= 2 x (⬛⬛ + 25)

= ⬛⬛ + 25 + ⬛⬛ + 25

= ⬛⬛⬛⬛ + 50

Total at first :

⬛⬛⬛ (Kelly) + ⬛⬛⬛⬛ (Laura) + ⬛⬛⬛⬛ + 50 (Meiling)

= 11 ⬛ + 50

So 11 ⬛ + 50 = 1062

11⬛ = 1012

1 ⬛ = 1012 ÷ 11 = 92
