Before finding k we must first find the original percentage of P. So sub t=0 to find the initial percentage of P. After finding P the question said that P is reduced to half, so 50% when t=5730 hence we sub both values into the equation to find k

As for the below question, it is quite tricky because that there is an old value of S and a new value of S. The old value of S is S=lg1/c=2.4 whereas the new value of S is lg(50x1/c)
