I still don't get it

Devi and Jerry age difference is 8
In 4 years time. Their age difference still 8 years.
Ratio J:D= 5:7
Therefore,
7u-5u = 8
2u=8
1u=4
Jerry = 5u = 5×4 = 20
Jerry age now = 20-4 =16 years old.
