$60 was spent
Total amount of money she had
= 60 + 30
= $90

Ratio of money she spent to total amount of money she had is 60:90, reduced to the simplest form is 2:3 (divide 60 and 90 by 30)

Because in ratio you have to simplify it to the simplest form, which means you cannot leave it as 60:90 since you can still divide them both by 30. 60 divided by 30 is 2, and 90 divided by 30 is 3, thus when you reduce 60:90 to it’s simplest form, it is 2:3.

Zeroes can be cancelled at the end. Then it becomes 6 : 9, which simplifies to 2 : 3.
