Area of large quadrant + area of small quadrant - area of rectangle
= (pi x 14 x 14)/4 + (pi x 10 x 10)/4 - (10 x 14)

Won't you be double counting the shaded area in the rectangle then?

We are double counting the intersection of the two quadrants, then minus one copy via the rectangle. Left with exactly one copy.
