Base of a bigger triangle = 2m + 6m = 8m

Height of a bigger triangle = 3m

There are two identical bigger triangles.

Area of figure = area of the two bigger triangles

= 2 x (½ x base x height)
= 2 x (½ x 8m x 3m)
= 2 x 12m²
= 24m²
