a) Tn = 2n² + 5
T1 = 2(1)² + 5 = 7
T2 = 2(2)² + 5 = 13
T3 = 2(3)² + 5 = 23
T4 = 2(4)² = 5 = 37
First 4 terms = 7,13,23,37
b) 8, 15, 26, 41
Compare to a)
T1 = 8-7 = 1
T2 = 15-13 =2
T3 = 26-23 = 3
T4 = 41-37 = 4
i) Tn = 2n² + 5 + n
ii) T36 = 2(36)² + 5 + 36 = 2633

For (b) part (ii), when n = 1, the second sequence is larger by 1; when n = 2, second sequence is larger by 2 etc. Ie the sequences differ by n, so add n to the formula given to get the formula for the new sequence. Hope this helps!
