Let n be number of books bought for each type.
Amount spent = (30xn) +(40xn) = 70n
If spend same amount on each type of book, he will spend 35n on each type of book.
35n / 30 + 35n / 40 = 2n+1
40 x 35n + 30 x 35n = 1200 (2n+1)

Total cost = 70 x 24 = …
