First line should be...
5u-605=(12u+840)-5400

Ooops careless mistake!
5u - 605 = (12u + 840) - 5400
5u - 605 = 12u - 4560
12u-5u = 4560-605
7u = 3955
1u = 565
17u=565×17 = 9605+840 = 10445 (answer)

Be careful. Total still u and u+70. Nit 17u +840. Hope this helps
