Recall that a function and its inverse are mirror images of each other, reflected about the line y = x

Any point (a,b) on a graph of a function is mapped onto (b,a) on the inverse function's graph.

So if (gf)-¹ (x) = 0,

That means the coordinates of this point on the inverse function's graph are (x, 0)

This corresponds to (0,x) on the original function.

Therefore if (gf)-¹ (x) = 0,

gf (0) = x

Simply sub 0 as your x-value in your original function gf to get the answer.
