First part error.

Since -2 < x ≤ 4,

-2< x means x is bigger than -2. So it cannot be -2. Smallest integer value of x is -1.

So smallest xy cannot be -2(for x) x 7 (for y)


Smallest xy

= 4 (for x) x -2 (for y)
= -8
